It hasn't even gotten cold yet and I'm already sick of winter. It effects my mood, it effects my skating, and it effects my mood to want to skate. Fuck it forever.

Starting tomorrow I wont have time for anything, for like 2-3 weeks because I start at the Halloween store. Two jobs, and school is weak sauce but its only for a sort while, and I need that scrilla.

I have a hard time trying to communicate with people, and that's why I think that a lot of times skateboarding is a way for me to communicate with what is not alive but it was still my friend. I think I like watching people learn, like watching people find their center; find their balance. A lot of skateboarding to me is watching and appreciating other skaters. There's not to many sports that are as solo as skateboarding.

I'm at a point in my life where all of my "dreams" could come true, but am I really ready for that to happen at such a young age? Mentally, and physically I know I can accomplish what it is I want to do and it would make my life 100% complete, and I can say that without any doubt. As usually with every path to accomplish comes a feat that can sometimes feel overwhelming or nearly impossible to overcome. Luckily, but also unluckily there is a way I can overcome this "wall" that I have approached. The reason I say it's lucky and unlucky is because the part that is "lucky" wouldn't take much to accomplish, the "unlucky" part is the outcome of not accomplishing the "lucky" part and it's the "unlucky" part that makes me stop and second guess myself. If that makes any sense to you, which is does to me. No one ever got anywhere by not taking a chance, but are some chances not worth taking? The passion and drive I have for this is so great that I know couldn't fail, and if I did fail I would at least be able to say "I went out doing what made me happy". There is always going to be that one question anyway I look at it... "What if...?"
I guess I could tell you what I'm talking about so maybe for the people that do read this can give me some positive or negative reinforcement.
Yesterday, Gary asked me if I was ready to take over Airwaves...

It used to be easy to spot one of your own fellow skaters no matter where you were in the world. It used to be as easy as checking out what shoes they were wearing and you knew instantly if you were in the presences of your own kind. The main reason for this is because back then when you actually fashioned yourself as a skateboarder, you actually were a skateboarder. Nowadays I see posers as far as the eye can see, the general consumer market is saturated with skateboard products. Just take a stroll through your local mall and you will see that everybody wants a piece of the “Xtreme” pie. Even Wal-Mart has a display of Tony Hawk doing a hand plant in the name of teen vitamins, Footlocker owns CCS now and Target is going to starting carrying Adio.
The whole thing really makes me want to distanced myself from skateboarding for awhile as I watched skateboarding trends and fashion be raped by the masses. I just find it funny that the same jock itch idiots that used to shout “Skate or Die Dude” as they drove by in their bitchin' Camero’s are now sporting Hurley shirts and Etnies skate shoes. In my opinion skateboarding has been soldout and watered down leaving the workhorse of the skateboarding industry in the dust, your friendly neighborhood skate shop.
Sadly there is no stopping the wheels of progress and I like a good deal just as much as the next guy and we have all sold out skateboarding to some extent but at some point you have to say enough is enough. The bottom line is SUPPORT YOUR LOCAL SKATE SHOP! If your buying your gear online make sure it’s skater owned and operated or try driving past the mall and visit your local skate shop, I mean there’s a novel idea, buy your skate stuff from a skate shop because thats where you’ll find the “real deal” and real people.
What most people don’t realize is that most skateboard companies will only deal with local skate shops or at the very least grant them access to products way before they will be released to the mall rats. Chances are the people that work at your local skate shop actually skate and have either used the products your interested in or know someone who has. They are gonna know what’s hot and what’s not, what is crap and what is worth spending your hard earned cash on.

My goal this summer is to build a mini-ramp. It would be boss if I got it done before Go Skateboarding Day because then I could have a ballin' ass "Ramp Formal Bar-B-Que" but there's not enough time to get it done it that short of a period, either way I will have a mini-ramp and it will be wonderful.

I started skateboarding because my brother skateboarded, and I just started getting on his and progressed from there and wanting to always ride his boards. Skateboarding is different from other sports because you can add whatever you want to it. There's not really much else to do in baseball, you know. You hit the ball. But if you skateboard, you can contribute to skateboarding. You can make things up and you can really add to it. There's so much personal style involved in it. You can look at a silhouette of a photo of a guy and know who it is. I think that's really great. The artistic part about skateboarding is how you express yourself. The process of doing a trick is one of the most tedious, mind-altering things you could possibly do; there are tricks you can try for three days straight and not get; What a regular civilian thinks like "Oh, make a trick! Go jump the barrel." It's like, so not that. Sometimes I think I hate this. I want to quit right now. Forever. And never do it again; It's like someone who doesn't skate spending an afternoon trying to flick 52 cards into a hat from about 10 feet away. That's the crux of it, and once you do it, there you go but landing a trick, there's nothing like it. The feeling of landing a trick is why you keep doing it. The best thing about skateboarding is just the feeling of actually riding the board and the accomplishment that you get out of riding that board. It's a strange phenomenon how this piece of wood, wheels and a turning system has made so many people so happy. You can't learn every trick in skateboarding, it's not like a video game, you don't just beat it and then you're done with it. I don't think I'll ever quite skateboarding, it's in me there maybe a time where I don't skate as much but I'll always have the drive of what I want to feel.
